Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am experiencing a rash after treating a yeast infection. It is isolated to a few areas on the exterior of my vagina. It is very painful to urinate or touch. The yeast infection symptoms came on after my boyfriend performed oral sex on me and I am curious if perhaps that triggered the infection. I am very worried about this rash as I have had yeast infections before without any symptoms like this. I took the generic version of Diflucan (Fluconazole). I am currently on a birth control pill called APRI.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your case, and understand your concern. Without examination, it is difficult to comment on this. Is there ulceration, lesion, or only rash? Is there discharge from the vagina? If yes, then is it smelly? As per your description that could be an ulcerative lesion or some minor infection. It would have been better if there was an image for proper diagnosis. But I would suggest keeping that area clean and dry and changing undergarments twice a day to prevent the further spread of infection or subsequent infections.
I hope this information helps you.
