Can a high WBC count cause bruising and numbness?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My WBC count has been elevated for the past few years without showing any signs of infection. I tested negative for leukemia and lymphedema. My doctor suggested I have idiopathic leukocytosis. I feel tired and experience numbness in my left side. I also develop bruises randomly. What could be the reason?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Are there any issues with the platelet count? I suggest you get a bone marrow examination done which will further give clarity into the condition. I also suggest you consult a specialist as soon as possible.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
