What could be the reason for delayed periods despite having non-penetrative sex?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was on the 25th day of my 30-day regular cycle when we had sex but without penetration. Now I am two days late for my period. I am experiencing white discharge but still no periods. Will l get periods or not please confirm it.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. According to your description in such situations it is very rare to get pregnant also you had this activity on a safe day and sperm can live only 1 to 5 minutes outside the human body so do not worry. Sometimes periods might get delayed by 1 or 2 weeks because of some stress or recent illness, so I would suggest waiting for one more week in between you will get your periods.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
