What could be the reason for wrist pain while exercising?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel pain in my left wrist when I put some pressure on it, like when doing push-ups. Otherwise, it feels normal. It is from one month since I have not been doing any exercises, I thought it would get automatically fixed, but it did not. Please advise me on what I should do.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Pain in the wrist can be due to many reasons. If you did not have any injury or fall, the most likely cause is inflammation in ligaments or tendons, commonly seen in young athletes and gym trainees. You need not worry, as it is completely treatable with some medicines and a change of exercise.

Hope I have explained it simply.

Thank you.
