Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 32-year-old woman experiencing significant hair loss and constant fatigue, and I have noticed unusually heavy bleeding during my periods. Could these symptoms be indicative of iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia? I am concerned about the impact on my overall health and well-being. What dietary changes or supplements would you suggest to address these issues? Additionally, are there any other potential causes for my symptoms that I should be aware of? Your suggestions and guidance on how to manage these concerns and improve my overall health would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Heavy menstruation and hair loss can be associated with PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) or pelvic inflammatory diseases (PID), so I would suggest you go through an ultrasound examination once, to check if everything is normal with the uterus or female genital organ. If you have PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) then you should treat that so you will not have hair loss and heavy menstruation. Heavy menstruation can lead to iron deficiency anemia, so for that you can check your hemoglobin levels and if you have any other condition, then it can be treated accordingly. in addition, I would suggest you take a diet rich in protein and iron such as eggs, green vegetables like spinach, and fruits like papaya, oranges, and pomegranate all these things will help to increase your blood levels and stop your hair loss as well. Also, kindly tell me; do you have irregular periods? Kindly answer.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
