How to manage a scar on the face after a skin infection?

Hi doctor,

I am a 29 year old male. I developed a skin infection on my face. It is in three places. One on the right corner of forehead, one just near below my right eye and then one just below my right lip. Symptoms started with some itching and redness. Below my lip some kind of small blisters were first seen. Then later I felt more tingling, itching, burning sensation and crawling on the skin. I went to a dermatologist in my locality and he prescribed tablet Teczine and Flucort cream for a week. Then on my second visit, he prescribed Zanclav and Cortimax. And in my recent visit, he prescribed Alaspan and Tendrone cream. I will be visiting him again after a month. Now, all the symptoms have gone and it subsided with the help of the medication being prescribed. But, the thing is that I have big scars remained which making me worried and uneasy. The scars on the forehead and lower lip are like a kind of cut incision being made. The skin got separated. The one below the eye is just a pinkish red scar. I am worried about the scars. Will those scars return to normal skin as those skins are separated each other deep inside? I am sending the picture of my scar. Kindly give a suitable advice and suggestion how to go about it. I want my normal skin back. My immunological investigation, hematology analysis and liver function are normal. Thank you.

Sex worker sex led to penis thread-like appearance. Why?

Hello doctor,

I had a sexual encounter with CSW(Community Sex Worker) which was protected and I have no symptoms. After six months I have another sexual encounter with CSW which was also protected. After a month a weird thread-like thing started appearing in my penis and it got disappeared in a few days. Now, again I get this same thread appearance and it keeps multiplying in different areas in the penis. Also, I am having intercourse with my wife (unprotected). She has no symptoms and she is breastfeeding. Is there any possible risk for her or for the baby. Let me know if anything else is required. Also, I think it is high time to have a full STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) test. I had one last year and it was clear.

What is the best treatment for dark spots and acne scars?

Hi doctor,

I am a 31-year-old female with three kids. When I was in my teenage, I developed red bumps which later on turned into acne. Most of the time I scratch them as they are very itchy and the same with insect bites. I have a lot of dark spots now all over my face, buttocks, back of my thighs, and upper arm. It is also present in my inner thighs. I have attached some pictures that you might want to look at and see which is the best dermatological treatment that suits me. I wanted to restore my skin and remove these dark spots and scars on my legs as well. This has been the source of my insecurities since I was in high school. And I always envy those girls who wear sleeveless shirts and short shorts. Let me know what treatment is the best to solve my skin problem. I am too shy to go to a derma clinic because I do not know what to say to them so I resorted to an online consultation. I am not on any regular medication except my breastfeeding supplement and some vitamins. I hope you treat my case with the utmost confidentiality.

How to effectively manage dry skin, rashes, and itching?

Hi doctor,

I am having a problem with dry skin and rashes. I have a history of atopic eczema on the neck for which I am applying Flutivate cream. 4 weeks back some red rashes started coming up with itching. I thought it is because of dry skin, so I applied coconut oil and moisturizer. The redness has gone, but the skin is wrinkled. On scratching sometimes blood is coming up. Currently, I am taking Losar 50 mg, Nexito plus, and Thyronorm tablets. I am attaching the pictures for your reference. Kindly help.

Are low semen volume and alopecia in the pubic area related?

Hello doctor,

I noticed a small triangular bald spot in my beard three weeks ago. It was likely alopecia areata. Saw my dermatologist last week, she said it was likely folliculitis. I have had folliculitis before in the same area and it was much different. She is the doctor. So I accepted and moved on. One small spot that has some hair growing back, small thin white hair. Yesterday, I noticed what appeared to be a bald spot in my pubic hair above the penis. When I trimmed the hair back, it revealed a quarter-sized bald spot and a smaller dime-sized spot. I am not sure how long they may have been there as they were somewhat masked by longer pubic hair. So, now I have what I believe to be three spots, two below the abdomen and one on the beard. My concern is more of them spreading than the current spots.

I am now thinking back about the annual checkup that I had with my GP six months back. I advised him that in the past year, the amount of semen I produce has gone down drastically. I thought it might be a testosterone issue. He advised it was likely a result of my vasectomy the year before. Also as a part of my visit, my WBC was lower than normal, outside of the range by a couple. He was not concerned about that either.

My question is whether any of these things are related: a decrease in semen, low WBC, and alopecia in the pubic area or all separate issues? I see no reason to go back to the dermatologist as my new spots are hidden. Based on these separate facts, is there any likelihood they are related and is there any reason to see a doctor?
