Can a second dose be taken after developing allergic reactions to the first dose of vaccine?

Hello doctor,

My brother had a high fever, sweat, difficulty breathing, and dizziness 12 hours after the AstraZeneca vaccine and had to rush to the hospital. Can he get the second dose?

My mother had an anaphylactic reaction to Penicillin. Can she get the Sinopharm vaccine?

Hi doctor,

My mother had an anaphylactic reaction to Penicillin before. Local doctors have refused her vaccines Covaxin and Sinopharm. She previously had rashes after taking the soluble tablet Efferalgan (Paracetamol). We do not have the Covaxin vaccine anymore in my country, and I want to know if the ingredients in the Sinopharm vaccine are similar to Penicillin which could trigger an anaphylactic reaction? Can she get the Sinopharm vaccination?

I am allergic to Quinolones. Can I get the COVID vaccine?

Hi doctor,

I have a query regarding my allergic reaction to the Quinolone group of medicine, namely Norfloxacin and Ofloxacin, which I suffered three times. Every time at the same place on the back, below lips, and penis shaft. Reoccurrence was more painful than the previous one. The third time I consulted a dermatologist who administered Kenacort injection and Wysolone plus, and then it was less inflammatory and painful and got healed within one week. Another point is I have every month a feeling of breathlessness and feels short of full inhalation have to do chest breathing, and it goes away in three to four days. Sometimes taking antihistamines relieves me in this case. These are my two concerns, and I am scared about taking the COVID vaccine, especially the Covishield vaccine. Can you please guide me on whether I should take the COVID vaccine, preferably Covishield? Or should I wait for some more time? Kindly help me.

Ten days after COVID-19, I have blood in my cough and bilateral atypical pneumonia. How to cure?

Hi doctor,

I have tested positive for COVID-19 ten days back. I have had a prolonged cough, and sometimes I get traces of blood with sputum when I cough. My computed tomography (CT) scan shows bilateral atypical pneumonia. The hospital has sent me home stating that it will get cured by itself. Could you please advise how to proceed in this condition?

My CT lungs present a ground glass opacity adjacent to the thickened bronchus. Is this serious?

Hi doctor,

Three years back, I did a computed tomography (CT) scan and a 5 mm nodule was diagnosed on the lower right lobe. I repeated the scan in these three years. There were no changes noticed in it. But during this year, my scan report was shown with a reference about ground-glass opacity. I will attach the report soon. But I have two questions to ask you. Is this serious? Does this area need surgery? I am explaining the findings seen in my CT lungs. I have mild bilateral bronchial wall thickening. There is no definite bronchiectasis. A small, solid nodule of 5 mm remains stable in the right lower lobe. There is no new suspicious nodule seen. There is no consolidation. There is a ground glass opacity seen adjacent to a thickened bronchus. It remains prominent.
