Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
There is a belief that if you dried your sweat at the back, you could have pneumonia or other lung conditions such as cough or asthma attack. I know it is not right, but I do not know if my assumptions are correct. Is it right that the dried sweat at your back has nothing to do with it? It is the activities you did; for example, excessive physical activities which trigger your asthma, or in line with your actions, you acquire the virus that causes you to have pneumonia or cough? Because of the activities you did, your body's reaction is to sweat, and the people correlate it with those diseases? But many here still testify that when they dried their sweat at their back, they have a hard time to breathe and it causes them to have an asthma attack. Could you please verify and confirm it?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. Asthma or pneumonia has nothing to do with sweat. Asthma is a genetically determined condition, which is triggered by various factors. For example, exposure to cold, allergens, etc., can trigger an asthma attack in predisposed individuals. Also, exercise-induced asthma is a known entity. Further, exercise will increase oxygen demand, hence reveals an underlying breathing difficulty. Pneumonia is caused by agents like bacteria or viruses that you inhale. Thank you.
