Can Tylenol cause liver damage and elevate the liver enzyme?
Hello doctor,
I am a 37-year-old female. I had a VSG surgery with gall bladder removal six months ago. My ALT, AST, and ALP were fine and within the normal range during the time of surgery. But my recent blood reports show abnormal values of AST, ALT, and ALP. I have been drinking alcohol every weekend for a couple of months. And I was unaware that I should not take tablet Tylenol and used it daily for about five months. After searching a lot on the internet, I fear that I have liver cirrhosis. Could I have done that much damage in that short of time? Can my liver heal itself at this point?

What is the difference between sedation and anesthesia?

I am having a revision rhinoplasty and it is going to be under sedation and local anestheia but I am very scared. I asked the doctor about it since I read that during sedation you are awake but he said under sedation, patients are asleep and they feel nothing. However I never tried it and I am really scared, I want to know what i.v sedation is exactly and is the patient put to sleep if the patient is actually asleep then what is the difference between sedation and general anestheia?

How to treat food poisoning-induced IBS?

Eight months ago, I had an acute food poisoning case. My symptoms were cramping, pain, weight loss, and diarrhea. I ate food that was left outside the fridge for more than eight hours. The symptoms persisted for a few weeks, and then I went to a doctor who did a colonoscopy and stool sample test. He diagnosed me with IBS and excluded IBD. No other parasites have been observed in the exam. For a long time, I have had IBS and successfully dealt with it by taking one course of Rifaximin for ten days and followed with probiotics. I never had IBS symptoms until this food poisoning episode. I still have symptoms for seven months now, and nothing seems to work. I did a course of Rifaximin, which worked well for a few days, and the situation got back to terrible. I did try probiotics in vein. I am thinking of doing a test for SIBO, E.coli, H.pylori, and other parasites and then another course of Rifaxmin and Neomycin. Please advise on what you think. Are these tests advisable? Please suggest a potential solution.

What causes a burning sensation in face, arms, and neck?
I’m a 23 Y/O FEMALE Weight 260lbs Height 5’5
Current Medications: Paxil 80Mg once daily for anxiety and panic disorder and OCD and PTSD/omeprazole slow release tab once daily / B complex vitamin once daily/ vitamin d once daily Starting at about 14 I would wake up with burning sensations in my face, arms and back of the neck it hurt to press on my upper arms and my eyes would hurt especially the backs of my eyes. These problems are still problems I have now.
Three years ago I had my daughter 87hour active labor epidural baby born at 36w 5d no complications otherwise. When I went into labor is when my chronic bilateral leg pain started I have it daily 6/10 pain scale but 10/10 when it’s severe which is usually at night. MRI of the lower back has been done no severe abnormalities full blood work up done no abdnormalities other than slight anemia full ANA blood panel done only blood test shown abnormal was the Anti SSB value was 1.1 but told was not significant. History of needing a lot of IV fluids during pregnancy for morning sickness. History of oxycodone abuse no other drug use. No alcohol use. Numbness and tingling in different parts of the body.
History of two ectopic pregnancy’s one Fallopian tube removed immediately and next ectopic one session of methotrexate for one of the ectopic pregnancy’s that was unsuccessful and lead to the Fallopian tube removed. History of gallbladder removal and tonsils and adenoids removed. Stiff joints especially when cold but RH blood test negative. History of Irritable bowel syndrome colonoscopy and endoscopy preformed and unremarkable. General feeling of malaise and soreness with fatigue. I have had a lyme disease test its negative Please help and give advice, feel free to ask for any other information. I’m loosing hope in my doctors.
