Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
For four days after lunch, I had a pain in the upper abdomen that suddenly reached the bottom of the ribs, which intensified when I was standing or moving, but when I was sitting or lying down, the pain got significantly reduced.
At first, I thought it was joint stomach pain, but when I realized that I did not have diarrhea or vomiting, I decided that it was something to my stomach.
I hope you can help me, and thanks in advance.
Hello,
Welcome to the icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
For how long have you had such a problem?
I suppose it could be gastritis or gastric ulcer-like condition.
I suggest you take Rabeprazole 20 mg once daily for a week. But, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.
If there is no improvement, then rule out Helicobacter pylori infection by a urea breath test.
If still the cause is not clear, USG (ultrasonography) abdomen is to be planned.
If the problem persists and no cause is found even after the antibiotic course, an endoscopy is to be done.
Hope your concern is solved.
