Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 22-year-old female weighing 97 Ibs.

I have been having an abnormal heartbeat for over a year now. My heartbeat is fast every time I eat a heavy meal or sugary food, and it takes about an hour to slow down. Even when I am relaxing or wake up from sleep, my heartbeat feels fast. My eyes and head feel heavy too. Sometimes I feel so hard to even think of something, which affects my communication with people around me. I also often get muscle pain in my neck and shoulder. I am currently consuming multivitamins and fish oil.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to indicate something to do with the thyroid gland, as you are also underweight, and along with the other symptoms, this could be a case of hyperthyroidism.

I would also suggest getting an ECG done to exclude anything else, like supraventricular tachycardia.

Please get the following investigations done so that we can proceed with treatment.

Hopefully, this will help.

The Probable causes

Autoimmune.

Investigations to be done

Serum TSH. Serum T4, T3. Thyroid antibodies. ECG to rule out supraventricular tachycardia.

Differential diagnosis

Supraventricular Tachycardia.

Probable diagnosis

Hyperthyroidism.

Regarding follow up

Please notify about the results so that we can proceed with treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
