Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

When I wake up in the morning, I hear a gurgling sound in my throat as I lie on my bed. It happens during swallowing. When I get up out of bed, it disappears. What could be this?

And also, I get a lot of burping after eating. I do not know whether food is coming back up. I do not have chest pain or acid taste in my mouth.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern.

Actually, the sound is due to acidity only. Though you cannot taste it in your mouth, the burping sound is only due to gases in the stomach. And gurgling is due to that as well.

I would suggest to take healthy diet and drinking plenty of water. In the diet, take cucumber and salad along with food. Avoid spicy and oily food. Eat at least three hours before going to bed. I also suggest taking tablet Pantoprozole 40 mg once before breakfast for three days and letting me know afterward.

I would like to know whether you have difficulties in passing stool.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I do not have stool problems. The acidity has been there for at least three months.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It can be there for three months and even more. Sometimes stress-induced acidity also can be seen. When a person is under stress, our stomach produces acids, so changing lifestyle defiantly helps. If there is anything else, let me know.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I do not get any acid refluxing back. Is this just gas bubbles coming up and not GERD?

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It would be just gas bubbles, not GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). In GERD, we can taste acids in our mouths sometimes. And you do not have such. So do not worry. I suggest you take medicine for three days and let me know.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
