Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had super bad acne for about three weeks now and nothing I try seems to work. I have always washed my face 2 to 3 times a day, drank a lot of water. But nothing seems to help, and I do not know what to do.
Hi,
I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.
I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.
I have reviewed the attached photographs (attachment removed to protect patient identity). If I was your treating doctor, I would recommend you apply a Salicylic acid facewash twice daily and apply Benzoyl peroxide 2.5 percent gel twice daily on the affected areas. Along with this take a course of antibiotic tablet Azithromycin 500 milligrams daily before lunch or dinner for three consecutive days in a week for six weeks. Besides this, keep face dry, avoid applying oily cream or moisturizers, avoid oiling of the scalp, use cosmetics labeled as noncomedogenic and reduce the intake of sugary foods. Continue this for six weeks and revert back.
Thank you for consulting me.
