Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My report shows an infection, but I need to know which type of infection or which organ got infected? So, I can consult a doctor related to this department. I am taking medicine for this infection. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The possible causes are bacterial, viral, and parasitic. In the new report (reports removed to protect the patient's identity), you have lymphocytosis, suggesting infection. You also have borderline eosinophils, which indicate a possible allergic cause. Platelets are low in both old and news reports. MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin) and MCHC (mean cell hemoglobin concentration) are high with the possibility of macrocytic anemia. Still, hemoglobin is normal and may likely be due to multiple causes, including folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies.

However, I suggest doing have additional tests,

1) Blood- ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), CRP (c-reactive protein), Vitamin B12.

2) Urine- culture, sensitivity, and routine.

3) X- ray chest- PA (posteroanterior) view.

Medications- You also have not mentioned what medications were taken, as you mentioned infection-related tablets.

Please revert with clinical details to discuss and decide on a course of action.

The Probable causes

Bacterial, viral, or parasitic.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
