Patient's Query

Hi,

I am a 33-year- old female. About four years ago, I was in a bar, and I had diarrhea, so I went quickly to the toilet, but I did not have any more options but to use the toilet paper that was used. It was dry and appeared to be clean. The next day I started to have a lot of itchiness in the skin before the anus. The itchiness was really annoying, so a few days later, I bought a cream that is used for vaginal infections, and after that, it was much better. I applied the cream Canesten GYN. Only on some days, I had the need to scratch in there. Moving forward to the present, I have noticed that I have to use the cream again. I do not have any other problems besides that, and I am embarrassed to see a doctor. What can I do? Also, I am taking 100 mg of iron supplements daily because my doctor found an iron deficiency recently. (I am a vegetarian, and on special occasions only I eat meat). Thanks a lot.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. Most probably, you have a fungal infection in the region. Would it be possible for you to share a picture of the affected area? That will help me to diagnose the condition better. Please answer a few questions. When was the last time you dewormed yourself? Are you pregnant or breastfeeding? I suggest you apply an antifungal cream like Ketoconazole 2 % cream twice daily. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello,

I have not dewormed ever. I am not pregnant or breastfeeding. I also have hemorrhoid. Earlier it was much smaller than what it looks in the picture now.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Hemorrhoids can also cause itching. I have these suggestions for you. You can apply Lox (Lidocaine) 2 % jelly on the hemorrhoid. For the surrounding areas, you can apply Ketoconazole 2 % cream twice a day for three to four weeks. Take Tablet Fluconazole 150 mg (take only on Sunday and Thursday) after food for three weeks. Take Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg (for reducing itching sensation) take as and when required. I also suggest you to deworm yourself by taking tablet Albendazole 400 mg as one single tablet after dinner. Consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
