Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The patient underwent angioplasty two months ago. The medication provided makes the patient unwell and there is a loss of appetite. We need proper medicine advise. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the detailed query and the attached picture. I have reviewed the medications patient is taking (attachment removed to protect patient identity). There is no medicine that seems to be unnecessary. All are needed for the patient. That is why the physician has prescribed these medicines. Feeling unwell and loss of appetite have a lot of reasons and can be due to any one of them. The patient's heart is also one of them. Certain medications also have a side effect of loss of appetite and feeling sick. The age of the patient and recent angioplasty adds up to the symptoms. To me, there seems no need for medication change (and this is based on the limited information provided about the patient. I do not have knowledge about patient's past medical history, recent health issues other than the heart, status of kidneys, liver, and lungs. To start or stop any medication we need to know the health status of all the body organs). I would recommend to regularly check the patient's blood pressure, blood sugar levels and other routine blood work. Consult back to his cardiologist in a couple of weeks. This visit is recommended post-angioplasty to see if everything is alright. He would do an echocardiography, EKG (electrocardiogram) and other heart tests to see all is as it should be. Hope it helps. Please feel free to ask more if you need further assistance. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
