Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have spondylitis, and sometimes the pain becomes severe. I was told it might be ankylosing spondylitis, but I am unsure. Can diet help with this type of arthritis? How is ankylosing spondylitis different from rheumatoid arthritis?
I have heard that inflammation in ankylosing spondylitis can be significant. Does nutrition play a role in reducing inflammation? Are there specific foods I should consider to help manage the pain associated with spondylitis?
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
To confirm ankylosing spondylitis, there is a specific blood test, so consider taking it. In spondylitis, pain occurs when a nerve gets compressed. A balanced diet can help manage the condition, but it will not completely cure it.
You should plan its management, and incorporate medical treatment, lifestyle changes, self-care, and supportive measures.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
