Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Two years back, I gave birth to my baby. After that, I start to suffer from PPD. I was prescribed Ativan and Zoloft. I stopped taking Ativan after taking it for a few months. I am still taking Zoloft 100 mg. For a week, I am experiencing some anxious feelings. I had full-blown anxiety two days back. I took Ativan 5 mg. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You can take tablet Lorazepam 0.5 mg or Clonazepam MD 0.5 mg while having an anxiety attack. Do not take it daily. Take as per requirement. You should take them in a mouth dissolving form. It will give an immediate effect. Try to follow these guidelines that help to deal with anxiety. Do exercise daily for 30 to 45 minutes. Try to go for a walk. Do meditation for 20 minutes daily. Just sit in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on normal breathing. Do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts. It helps to relax you and reduce your anxiety. Eat healthy home-cooked foods and avoid taking junk foods. Spend some quality time with your friends and family daily. Spend some quality time with your creative hobbies like reading books, writing journals, painting, drawing, learning new skills or language or musical instruments. Have a maximum of seven to eight hours of sleep daily. You must avoid tobacco or alcohol or any substance abuse. Live your life and do not spend it.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
