Do I hear little sounds in a quiet room due to my anxiety?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 34 year old female, and my hearing is good, Is it fine to hear little sound in a quiet room? Can there be a sound of our brain or blood flow? Are these idle mind's thoughts?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Do you have a cold or a cough or any ringing in ears? You should get your ears examined first. The doctor will tell you if you need to get audiometry and tympanometry.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Can this be related to anxiety? I have been to an ENT specialist, but no issues were found.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it can be anxiety-related also if an ENT specialist says that everything is fine. You can take benzodiazepines for a week and see if it helps.
