Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a few bumps that are red and swollen under my tongue. They are painful, and the pain radiates to my lower jaw. Why is it so?
It happened suddenly, and I am worried. I do smoke.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern. According to the history provided by you, it looks like an inflammatory lesion on the right side of the floor of the mouth. However, I have a few more questions about the lesion-
It can be a painful apthous ulcer that causes speech and mastication difficulties. It subsides in seven to ten days. But it can also be an inflammation of the submandibular salivary gland, which needs further evaluation.
I suggest you rinse your mouth with warm saline water five to seven times daily for five days. Also, avoid smoking.
I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up with the answers.
Thanks and regards.
