Medical Conditions - Aphthous Ulcer

An aphthous ulcer is otherwise known as a canker sore. It appears as a small, shallow, painful lesion inside the mouth or at the base of the gums. It causes difficulty in eating and talking. The causes are stress, minor injury inside the mouth, and hard brushing. In some cases, it resolves on its own, and in few cases, taking pain-relieving medications helps provide some relief.
