Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Recently, I had an asthma attack at work, and they treated me and did a chest X-ray. I am an X-ray technician, and I just do not think my chest X-ray looks right. I am currently on Concerta, Omeprazole, Cetirizine, Montelukast, Symbicort, Pro-air emergency pump, and Albuterol. Please suggest.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your chest X-ray (attachment removed to protect patient identity)report is as follows:
These findings suggest mild airway changes, likely from recent asthma activity, but no serious lung or heart issues.
Please discuss this in detail with your doctor.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
So I do not have pneumonia?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I find the increased markings, which might suggest hyperactive airways, and can be visualized after an asthma attack.
Pneumonia is a lung infection, as you might be aware of. Pneumonia can cause many types of patterns on the chest radiograph. Your chest radiographs do not show typical pneumonia.
However, if pneumonia signs are there clinically and if you continue to have respiratory symptoms in the next few days, then a follow-up chest X-ray or a chest CT (computed tomography) scan might be needed.
I hope this helps.
Please revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
