Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My 11-year-old son is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has asthma and constantly complains about feeling sick all the time. He often cries because he is tired of always feeling unwell. He also says every day that his bones hurt, and he experiences constant nausea throughout the entire day, every day.
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
Your son is very young, so these bony pains may also be normal growth pains.
I would suggest the following tests:
Complete hemogram.
Blood sugar.
Blood pressure.
Serum calcium.
Vitamin D levels.
Serum uric acid.
Please provide me with a few details about him so that I can help you in a better way:
When was he diagnosed with asthma?
Is he on any medications now or previously?
Is there any other past or family medical or surgical history?
For management, I would suggest the following:
Give him a rich diet including a lot of green vegetables.
A fresh vegetable soup.
A calcium-rich diet, such as milk and other milk or dairy products, such as cheese, curd, etc.
As far as asthma is concerned, please keep a close watch on his symptoms. Any trigger must be avoided, whether it be food like egg, mushroom, dust, smoke, pollution, cold air, or stress, exertion, etc. Please consult a medical specialist in person and get a physical examination done.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
