Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been experiencing itching on my left hand for many years, and there seems to be no way I can get rid of it. I took some pictures under a magnifying glass, so if you could provide a diagnosis, I would greatly appreciate it. The current medication details include Euthyrox 100 mg for thyroid.

Thank you.

Hello,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

It appears to be atopic eczema based on the attached image (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). Apply Fucibet (a combination of Betamethasone and Fusidic acid) cream at night for seven days (on the affected area). Use Moisturex (liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin) soft lotion or Dermocalm (calamine and liquid paraffin) lotion three to four times daily for ten days. If there is irritation, take one tablet of Teczine-M (a combination of Levocetirizine and Montelukast) at night after food for seven days. Here are my suggestions:

  1. Avoid scratching or rubbing the lesions.
  2. Avoid injury, trauma, occlusion, and friction at the site.
  3. Avoid known triggers.
  4. Avoid contact with harsh soaps and detergents.
  5. Use a mild soap for bathing.
  6. Avoid prolonged contact with water.
  7. Avoid frequent handwashing.

Follow up after ten days.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.
