Hello doctor,
My 10-week old projectile spits up after every nursing session. He is scheduled to have an ultrasound of upper GI one week from now to see if he has pyloric stenosis. Last night he was up until 7 AM screaming in pain. He is hungry all the time and I feel like I am doing more harm than good by feeding him all the time. At his two months check-up, he had gained weight, he was 11 lb 7 oz. He has very good urine output and I do not think he is dehydrated. He only has 1 or 2 bowel movements a week. Every day he seems worse even with Zantac three times a day. I do not know what to do for him while we have to wait a whole week to have his tests done. Is there any way I can help him? Should I take him to the emergency room?

I understand your misery. However, I feel the line of management chosen is appropriate. If you could arrange for getting a USG abdomen done earlier it would be good. An X-ray of the erect abdomen can also be done to get an approximate judgment about the same. Another study that may need to be done would be a reflux study (since you have mentioned Zantac is no good).
Signs you need to take him to the emergency room include lethargy, abdominal distension, not passing stools for three days or more with recurrent episodes of vomiting. Beyond this, I do not think there is anything that can be done given the current scenario.
