This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have dark black spots throughout my back. Is it any disease? It has been there for years. Whenever I get a small pimple, it becomes puss forming that bursts and turns into dark black spots. I am attaching pictures of my acne. Kindly suggest a treatment to cure this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. From the description and the picture provided (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), it seems you have trunk acne. Other tips for reducing the risk of back acne breakouts are washing after sweating, using fingertips to apply a gentle and non-abrasive cleanser, avoiding products that irritate your skin, avoiding scrubbing the affected areas, avoiding popping, picking, or squeezing spots as this may lead to spreading and scarring, and avoid tanning because damaged skin is more prone to acne. For trunk acne, I suggest you use 5 % benzoyl peroxide twice daily and take capsule Doxycyclin100 mg once daily for one month. For cleaning your face, you can use Cutiwash soft foam gel face wash (Aqua, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Lactic acid, Propylene glycol, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium hydroxide, and Glycerin). It would be best to have certain dietary restrictions like avoiding spicy, oily, junk food, milk products, and nonvegetarian food. Drink a lot of water to hydrate your skin. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them and take medications with their consent.

Thank you.
