Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My father has back pain. He is getting pain especially in back and legs. Actually, I am worried what is the cause of it. When he is standing, he feels less pain but when he sleeps maybe posture or what he suffers pain in leg and backpain. First I thought it is dehydration as he mainly drinks some water as he barely drinks 5 glass of water. What are the tips for his backpain to give him a relief and main problem is backpain. What should I do? He has taken hot belt too and we think he lacks water. Still he is afraid to sleep because of backpain.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Back pain is a very common problem. It can be divided into mechanical pain, inflammatory or infective pain, and other causes. There are some red flag symptoms and signs of back pain like pain at rest or night pain (as in your case), history of trauma, malignancy, unexplained weight loss, immunosuppressive therapy, bladder and bowel problems, and neurological weakness. A detailed evaluation is needed to find out the etiology behind it. Meanwhile, you can take some painkillers like Calpol, Tramadol, or Naproxen (anyone) for temporary relief.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
