Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female. My height is 157 cm, and my weight is 46.5 kg. Recently, I started having sex with my boyfriend without any protection. Also, I have taken the emergency contraceptive pill twice in two months. Every time after sex, I have a burning sensation while peeing. I also have an itching sensation around my vaginal opening and in my vagina. Also, there is an odorless white milky discharge that sometimes has a mild odor. There is also a blister in my vagina, and the skin around my vagina feels dry and scaly. Sex is also causing pain.

My boyfriend got himself tested for STDs, and the results were negative. Are my symptoms because of a vaginal infection or STDs?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your symptoms are due to yeast infection along with bacterial vaginosis. I suggest you go for the below tests:

  • Routine urine examination and culture test.
  • Pap smear of vaginal discharge for microbiology.
  • Hemoglobin level.

If you cannot go for the tests, I suggest you start antibiotics, analgesics, and antihistamines. Also, you should go for douching of the vagina with an antiseptic solution and use a vaginal pessary for a week.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
