Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
For the past few weeks, I have had severe vaginal itching. It goes on all night and sometimes during the day. I have not slept properly for the past few weeks. I have not experienced this level of itching before and for such a long time. Once this started, I used Lactacyd to alleviate the itch, but that has not worked. Please help me before I go out of my mind.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It seems that you have developed vaginal moniliasis, which is a fungal infection. If you are sexually active, it's important to treat your partner as well to prevent the infection from recurring. If you're not sexually active, here's what you should do after consulting your doctor:
1. Take a single dose of Fluconazole (150 mg) immediately.
2. Maintain proper vaginal hygiene.
3. Undergo an evaluation for any potential abnormal blood sugar levels, although this is less likely given your age.
4. Use Candid-V (Clotrimazole) vaginal pessary nightly for seven days.
Please remember to consult your doctor before taking any action.
