Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There are white spots on the foreskin of my penis. In the beginning, there were only 2 to 4 spots around the foreskin whereas now there are multiple. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

It looks like HPV (human papillomavirus) warts to me. You need to get it checked by your family doctor, and also get your partner checked. These warts can increase and appear in new places. They can also spread by unprotected sex to any partner.

Treatment would be either Podophyllin cream (cytotoxic agent) or laser therapy. If extensive, may need circumcision.

The cracks and white spots you mentioned could be due to a condition called BXO (Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans) which causes the foreskin to become dry and itchy, and fissures to form, which heal and cause further narrowing of the foreskin. Treatment for this would also require circumcision if you are unable to retract the foreskin completely.

Take care and use protection in intercourse.

Also, get your random blood sugar checked to rule out diabetes.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your answer.

Can my partner use the cream as well?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Podophyllin is to be used only under medical supervision, or your doctor can apply it for you, it has to be applied only on the affected skin in small amounts for a short time. Your partner can use it if they have been diagnosed with HPV warts.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
