Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I have balanitis. Due to itching, I have got rashes on the penis foreskin. I am having difficulty retracting the foreskin, and the foreskin has formed a rubber band-like structure at the tip of the penis. There is also a little redness on the tip of the penis and there is inflammation too. Off late, I have been having an inflammation of the glans as well. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Yes, it is balanoposthitis (balanitis), and it can be most probably candidal balanoposthitis. Do you have a history of recent sexual exposure? If yes, does your partner have genital itching or vaginal discharge issues? I suggest you take the following medications with your doctor's consent:

1. Tablet Fluconazole 150 mg. Take one tablet today and the other after a week. Give it for your sexual partner also, if any.

2. Apply Candid cream (Clotrimazole) twice a day.

3. Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once at night.

Take it for 10 days. I hope I have resolved your queries. Do get back if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
