Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
May I know the general reasons for the overdistended urinary bladder to occur? The computed tomography (CT) scan report detected an overdistended urinary bladder.
As per reports, no calculi are seen in the kidneys and ureter. There are no calculi seen in the bladder too. Due to this overdistended bladder, I am experiencing pain in a specific area in my stomach. Please help me.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The most common cause of over distended bladder is an obstruction of the urinary tract (calculi or stricture can block the urinary tract) since that has been ruled by computed tomography (CT) scan; the other causes are,
1) Urinary tract infection (pain in the lower abdomen).
2) Neurologic causes like multiple sclerosis or a spinal disc prolapse (this shows symptoms like pain in the lower back and lower limbs).
3) It might be congenital and harmless.
4) Diabetes.
The most probable cause can be urinary tract infection. Hence kindly do a urine test to detect the infection.
Thanks and regards.
