Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 19-year-old female. I was sick for a week, well, more than a week now. When I blew my nose, a lot of blood came out. Right after that, I only felt pain on the right side of my head and eye. After that, I could not sleep for the whole day. The headaches and pain in the eye come and goes, which is only on the right side of my head. What does that mean?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The symptom of blood appearing when you blew your nose could be a sign of an infection because of which you were ill. I suggest visiting the doctor to check your respiratory tract; this could be an upper or lower respiratory tract infection. The body loses a lot of fluids, especially during respiratory infections, which can easily result in dehydration and exhaustion. The dehydration can result in headaches and even migraines (usually associated with eye pain and blurred vision).
Please drink plenty of fluids and report to your doctor at the earliest; a course of antibiotics may be required.
I hope you find it helpful.
Kind regards.
