Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My wife and I had the same blood group, A positive. And my wife is five months pregnant. I want to know, is there any problem with our baby?
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The same blood group does not at all lead to any problem in conception. People with the same blood group can marry and produce a normal child. So, as far as the same blood group is concerned, do not worry about that.
But as a doctor, I will advise you to check your wife's thalassemia minor report by Hb (hemoglobin) electrophoresis by the HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) method. You can provide me with reports for further interpretation. If you are a relative in nature, then genetic counseling is needed.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
