What could cause variations in blood test report?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My partner, 20 years old, is experiencing a significant health issue. Her recent blood tests indicate a hemoglobin level of 12.2 g/dL, an ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) level of 42 mm in the 1st hour, and an IgE (immunoglobulin E) level of 1069.9 IU/mL. Unfortunately, I could not accompany her to the doctor's appointment that day.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Her elevated IgE (immunoglobulin E) level can be attributed to a variety of conditions, such as allergic diseases and immunodeficiency.

The specific diagnosis should be influenced by the symptoms she is currently experiencing.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
