How to improve blurred vision better with a contact lens?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have recently purchased contact lenses of power cylindrical number 3.0 and the spherical number 3.0 for both eyes. Since the first day, I have been facing trouble with slightly blurred or double vision, which does not resolve even after taking the utmost precautions. The number of new spherical lenses I received is 2.75. Is it the same number as compared to the lens in spectacles having 3.0 in both spherical and cylindrical? Is it possible that the issue of blurred vision can be resolved, and can I wear them in the future?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

By going through your complaints, I could understand that you have an intolerance to contact lenses. It can be due to two causes, first due to the solution used for cleaning and second due to improper fitting. If it was due to a solution, the lenses could be reused a few days later. But if it is due to improper fitting (verified under slit lamp examination in the clinic), you may require to replace your lens. The number 2.75 lens does not cause much change in vision if the lenses are properly fit. I hope this helps.
