Hello doctor,
I have a bad body odor. I consistently emit a body odor that is unpleasant to others. I shower and brush my teeth two to three times daily, but nothing helps. It has been happening for about six months. I was a heavy smoker but quitted smoking over the past two months.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have seen your query and concern.
From your descriptions, it seems you have body odor issues. I suggest the following. Consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
1. Excessive sweating is always associated with armpit odor. It can be due to hormones and bacterial reactions. Obesity, diabetes, thyroid, etc., also will cause this. As you are overweight must check your thyroid and diabetes. Sometimes, it is natural and not associated with any disease.
2. Shave the area and keep it dry and clean. You can try Aluminium Chlorohydrate lotion, which has anti-sweating properties. Use deodorants and perfumes.
3. Avoid fatty and spicy food and also avoid tight clothes.
4. Botox (Botulinum toxin) is one of the most popular treatments for this condition. In this, Botox injections are given over the armpit, which causes sweat glands paralysis and totally stops the sweating and so body odor.
Thank you.
