Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a bruised bone in my left knee. I am a dancer, and I have a performance at the end of this month. Is there any information that you can give me to help me ease back into dancing in time for the show? Currently, I am taking the tablets Naproxen and Ibuprofen.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Yes, bruised bone needs immobilization and I advise you to wear a hinged knee brace for support.

1. Continue with the tablet Ibuprofen as long as you will have pain for at least 20 days.

2. Apply ice over the involved area.

3. Take as much rest as you can in between your dancing sessions.

It would be better to follow up with me with some investigation details or doctor's notes if you have any.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Probable diagnosis

Bruised bone around the knee - no investigations seen.
