Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having an irregular bowel movement for almost a week now. I do not feel constipated and do not have any stomach pains. The only time I was able to successfully relieve myself twice throughout the week but I believe it was caused by the laxatives I took. I am concerned and wanted to get your opinion regarding this.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. The duration of symptoms is short. I would suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Take probiotics either yogurt daily or commercially available probiotics for a proper one week.
  2. Take psyllium husk 1 to 2 tablespoons once daily so that you should be able to pass stools daily.
  3. Try to drink plenty of water and avoid eating out for a couple of days if possible.

Your symptoms should improve with the above instructions, if symptoms persist even after that, then you can visit a nearby doctor to get a physical checkup.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
