Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
A friend of mine passed away because of cardiac arrest. He was a footballer. All of his tests were normal. And apparently, cardiac arrest was due to a slow heart rate while he was asleep. Now I am worried, as my heart rate is also low, at 55 to 60 beats per minute. Are there chances of cardiac arrest?
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern. Sudden cardiac arrest in the sportive young population is a great concern, and many studies have looked into the causes. The most common causes are septal enlargement and heartbeat abnormalities.
Kindly share your ECG (echocardiogram) reports so I can review them.
I hope this has helped you.
Thank you.
