What causes brain fog, and how can it be managed?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I noticed I was urinating more in the mid of the second last month and thought I had a UTI, but it did not go away. I thought it was because I started taking 300 mg Pumpkin seeds extract pills per serving four times a day. After taking these pills, I started noticing pins and needles all over my body, especially my legs. I went to urgent care here in the nearby hospital, and they said the tingling could be due to taking so many herbs at once. My blood test reports are normal, and currently, I am taking Sprintec. My tremors seem to be getting a little better, but now I am experiencing some brain fog. What could this be? Kindly help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Your symptoms could be related to anxiety or dehydration, and there is no connection between pins and needles and brain fog. I suggest you to get your thyroid hormone levels and blood electrolytes checked for possible imbalance. In the meantime, I suggest you take Magnesium supplements of 400 mg daily. I hope you will find this information helpful.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Do you have any concerns this could be MS? It does not run in my family, but I do not know why I have been feeling like this lately.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I do not think that this is multiple sclerosis (MS) based on your description of the symptoms. However, I suggest you to get your thyroid hormone levels checked for possible thyroid gland dysfunction. I hope you will find this information helpful.
