Patient's Query
Hello...I am mother of 4 months old baby boy but unable to feed from the very first day....will I start breastfeed now?
Yes you can start breastfeeding. However you have to be balanced and gradual. Latch the baby on the breast for 5 to 10 minutes before top feeding. And then top feed as much as the baby wants. Continue this for 2 weeks till gradually milk starts coming and baby refuses top feeds. You can consume Satavarex powder (2 scoops in 1 glass of milk) twice a day for increasing milk supply.

But doctor, now he is 4 months old....will he start now?I tried many times but he shouts n start crying
Please note that the sucking and swallowing reflex in babies becomes a voluntary activity by age of 5 to 6 months. So in the meanwhile you can try as i mentioned above. Keep trying for a week to 2 weeks along with the top feeds as mentioned (so that the child doesn't stay hungry).
Patient's Query
Sir,how to stop him crying while trying for breastfeed as he always refuses to take bm
Do not give in to the cries. Atleast try for 5 to 10 minutes. Unfortunately the child has gotten used to the easy way. That is why the cries. Please look up the pictures of latching so that you are sure latching is being done correctly. After every breastfeed give top up feeds so that the child doesn't stay hungry.
