Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 43-year-old female. I get severe breast pain on the right side before getting my periods. After getting my period, my breast pain gets reduced. Can this breast pain occur due to hormonal imbalance or it indicates breast cancer? If I have breast cancer, how to diagnose and treat it?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. In every menstrual cycle, hormonal changes occur it causing some tenderness, and the breast becomes a little hard just before menstruation and it is normal. But you are saying you are getting very severe pain then you should do a regular self-breast examination. You should look for any lump, discoloration, or discharge from the breast. Compare both breasts if you notice any abnormality then you should consult with your nearby gynecologist or surgeon so that she can examine and guide you properly.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
