Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

It started with loose motions 15 days ago and a slight fever for a few minutes, followed by severe sweating. Loose motions were controlled with some medications. After five days, suddenly, I had whole-body flushing where the whole body felt hot from inside. It started from the head, cheeks, and nose. I observed that the nose became very stiff. I have undergone tests for CBC, urine routine, ESR, urine culture, typhoid, vitamin B12 deficiency, and chest X-ray, and everything looks normal. The physician, after a consultation, said that it could be due to pressure and suggested taking Lorazepam MD when the flushing attack happens and suggested to take Nexito Plus for a month. I had aerophobia and a few other phobias which I have experienced in the last two months, for your information. Also, I have a history of sleeplessness and have been taking anti-depressants for some time. My other complaints are full body weakness, dizziness, breathing shortness, chest discomfort on walking for long, eye pain, and tremors. There is no significant weight loss. I had allergic rhinitis and experienced a cycle of it in the last two months. Please suggest what is happening.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

All complaints except allergic rhinitis appear to be related to anxiety and depression. Just relax. You are normal as far as your body is concerned.

You can continue your depression medications.

I suggest taking Fluticasone (Fluticasone propionate) nasal spray, one spray in each nostril 12 hourly. It will give you relief from rhinitis.

Try excluding a bronchial allergy by visiting your local practitioner.

Best wishes.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply. I experience severe breathlessness when I walk a bit, and most of the time, I feel weak. I am a smoker, though I stopped the last week. Once I tried to smoke, I felt all the symptoms that I have explained doubled.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As I said earlier, exclude bronchial allergy by doing a spirometry test.

Stop smoking as it will only increase the symptoms.

Best wishes.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
