Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I engaged in sexual activity on the third day of my menstrual cycle. The encounter was brief, with no ejaculation. My period ended as expected. However, for the past week, I have been spotting brown discharge. Is this an early sign of pregnancy, and should I be worried? My menstrual cycle is typically 32 days, and I have never experienced irregular periods.

Hi,

Welcome to iCliniq.com. I have reviewed your query and understand your concerns. Let me address your questions.

Engaging in sexual activity from day 1 to 10 of your menstrual cycle is generally considered a safe period, as ovulation does not typically occur during this time. Moreover, the fact that there was no ejaculation further reduces the likelihood of pregnancy. The brownish discharge you are experiencing may be due to stress, anxiety, work pressure, changes in location, climate, or hormonal fluctuations.

If this is the first time you have encountered this, there is likely no cause for alarm. However, if this spotting persists in your subsequent cycles, I recommend consulting a gynecologist and undergoing a pelvic ultrasound to determine the exact cause.

Feel free to reach out if you have further concerns. Thank you for consulting me, and you can always return to reach me at iCliniq.com.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
