Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 23-year-old guy, and I have started masturbating since the age of 14, and I masturbate daily. After two years, I noticed small bumps, and I ignored that as it did not cause any problem. But it has increased to all over my penis under the skin, and it doesn't look good to me. And also, my penis sensitivity has decreased. Is it due to hard and more masturbating? Because it increases after masturbating many times a day.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concerns. First of all, I like to inform you that you did not attach any image of the affected area showing rashes or bumps. Without the attached image, it is impossible to speculate the cause of the problem. Now in regard to masturbation causing problem, there is little possibility that masturbation is cause for the same. This is because masturbation does not cause any problem irrespective of the number of years passed since masturbation was started. It is possible that rubbing the affected area increases the vascularity of the area and so the size of lesions. I request you to attach high-resolution images of the bumps around the penis so the exact cause can be identified and suitable treatment options can be suggested.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached the image.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the attached images (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) and found nothing abnormal or serious with the lesions. The lesions appear like pearly penile papules, which are considered normal. They are present in around one out of three males and do not cause any difficulty with intercourse. In addition, they are non-malignant and fade over time. Although there is little association between masturbation and pearly penile papules, it will be appropriate to reduce pressure during masturbation. Lubes can also be used to increase the pleasure of masturbation.
