Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My father is 70 years old, and we recently discovered that he has elevated levels of C-reactive protein in his blood during his last week's blood work. Why do C-reactive protein levels become elevated? He is a diabetic patient and takes medication for it. What health conditions can be caused by this elevated C-reactive protein level, and how can it be controlled? Please advise.

Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to iCliniq.

I am very sorry to hear about your medical condition.

Please do not worry; I am here to take care of you. Regarding your father's lab results showing elevated C-reactive proteins, this indicates that your father may have a chronic inflammatory disease. There are several inflammatory diseases, including vasculitis, myositis, gastritis, rheumatoid arthritis, meningitis, and many more. Please have him take the following medications:

  1. Tablet Piroxicam 40 mg, by mouth, twice daily.
  2. Tablet Diclofenac 100 mg, by mouth, twice daily.
  3. Tablet Prednisone 40mg, by mouth, twice daily.

If your symptoms persist, please schedule another appointment for a follow-up consultation via chat, phone, or video.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.
