A canker sore is a small, shallow sore inside the mouth or at the base of the gums. Causes are systemic imbalance and gastric problems like peptic ulcer. Habits like smoking, alcohol consumption, etc. Mental stress and depression also cause sores. Sometimes it is due to eating habits like hot food or drinks that can cause sores. It can be due to injury from dental equipment that is happened when a dentist mistakenly touches any hot instrument in the mouth.
