Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My daughter has coloboma of the iris, lens and nerve in both eyes. She also has cataracts in both eyes. Is there any treatment? What advice you would like to give to my daughter?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
We can check the size of the cornea and eyeball. Then, we have to remove the cataract with surgery and if possible, the lens must be implanted. We may need to start patching therapy after surgery. All these steps have to be taken under guarded visual prognosis. Do not wait. Get her cataract surgery done. As there is lens coloboma (piece of lens is missing), lens implantation may be difficult. In that case, lensectomy can be done and after that contact lenses can be advised along with patching therapy.I hope this has helped you.
Thank you.
