Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from cellulitis in the lower part of the leg from the last 15 days. I had consulted a doctor and he prescribed Clarithromycin 500 mg. The infection was greatly reduced. As soon as I stopped using antibiotic, it became red and pain started again over the part where it was previously infected. While I am using Clarithromycin tablets, my body used to get hot during the night and was unable to sleep. Please suggest me an antibiotic to completely get rid of cellulitis. As of now, I am using Aceclofenac and Razo D tablets.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. It's important to have your blood sugar levels checked and undergo a blood culture to assess the presence of any drug-resistant organisms, which would guide adjustments to the antibiotics for effective cellulitis.treatment. Additionally, consider an abdominal ultrasound to eliminate the possibility of inguinal lymph node issues. If feasible, provide a photograph of your legs and consider a venous Doppler test to rule out deep vein thrombosis (DVT). To address GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), I recommend consulting an internal medicine physician who can offer appropriate treatment and provide a prescription if needed.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
